ATEF will be a partner of the Baltazar Júnior programme at TMBD, in 2 workshops created specifically in that space (20th November 2017 and 19th March 018) and in 2 thematic workshops created for the space of the Cine-teatro de Stº António (11th December 2017 and 30th April 2018):


“Character Building”

20th November 2017

Location – Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias

Time – 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Duration – 60 ‘

Content – exploration of the different phases of the construction of the character, with the presence of 2 characters from the children’s play THE GRASSHOPPER AND ANT (from the text, to the composition of character – in body, voice, movement, in make-up, costumes, the use of props and on the counter); activity1 – experience the composition of characters in the different phases; activity 2 – Know the constitution of the stage, its warp and experience the positions of the scene and the use of the voice in the different acoustic points.

“Discover, feel and read images …”

Venue – Cine Stº António Theater / Gallery located in Café dos Artistas

Time – 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Duration – 60 ‘

Contents – Visit and interaction with the production of visual artists, in the context of thematic exhibition.


“Meeting Baltazar Dias, the blind poet”

19th March 2018

Location – Teatro Municipal Baltazar Dias

Time – 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Duration – 90 ‘

Contents – To know the time and the life of Baltazar Dias, in dramatic context, with a living character; interact with the character and his blindness, comparing the life of a blind man of the XVI century with the life of a blind man today.

Activity 1: Reading of a poem / text by Baltazar Dias, through voice and Braille writing; know Braille production and reading;

Activity 2: driving a blind man;

Activity 3: Experience Braille locomotion.

Activity 4: Experience the Audiodescription (visual access tool for the blind).

“The sounds and music in the Theater”

Venue – Cinema Stº António Theatre

Time – 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Duration – 60 ‘

Contents – Understand the value of sound and the musician, as a Theatre language; Feel the sounds and their evocations;

Activity 1: Imagine stories from sounds;

Activity 2: Know the themes of a soundtrack (from the first CD of ATEF “30 years of music for Theater for Childhood”). Try to produce sounds, vocalise and sing one of the themes at the participant’s choice, with and without play back.
